Help Us Deliver Care and Kindness to Homebound Seniors in Yuba Sutter—One Meal at a Time
This holiday season, in rural communities like Yuba and Sutter counties, aging adults and adults with disabilities will quietly struggle to get the nourishment and connection they need.
That’s where Meals on Wheels Yuba Sutter comes in.
Meals on Wheels Yuba Sutter is a local program of Agency on Aging Area 4, the nonprofit that serves older adults across seven counties in our region.
Together, we work to ensure that homebound neighbors who can’t shop or cook for themselves receive fresh, locally prepared meals along with a friendly visit.
For many, it’s the only meal—and the only human contact—they’ll have all day.
And the need is growing. By 2045, California will have more adults age 60+ than children, creating unprecedented demand for services like ours. Here in Yuba and Sutter counties, our waitlist is increasing—homebound older adults who need daily meals but can’t be served due to limited funding.
These are our neighbors. They’ve worked hard, raised families, and contributed to our community. And now, as many of us prepare to gather with family and friends for Thanksgiving, they’re waiting—often alone—for something as basic as a hot meal.
This holiday season, we’re asking for your help to raise $5,000 by December 31 to ensure older adults on our waitlist receive the meals and care they’ve been waiting for. Just $15 covers one home-delivered meal while a gift of $300 or more will feed a senior for a whole month.

- Preparing fresh, nutritious meals through local restaurant partners
- Addressing seniors' unique needs through medically tailored meals
- Ending the wait and serving additional isolated adults across rural counties
